Christmas is a fun time, it is a stressful time. It usually means time with your family, spending way too much money, and worrying about if someone is going to like your gift. Today, I am going to help you with that last one. I am Joshua Purcell and here are the top 5 Christmas gift ideas for that special Woodworker in your life.
Before we get started, I feel I can vouch for woodworkers in general, that we are sometimes picky about our tools, so I am going to try to stay away from buying most tools on this list.
Glue, Screws, or Nails
Trust me, I did the research and 97.2% of projects, use 1, 2, or all 3 of these items. Research or not aside, these can be nice gifts that will definitely get used. If you have no idea which one to buy, sneak out to the shop or garage and look for these items. Take a quick picture and take it to your local store and I am sure they can help you. Most, and I didn’t do the research on this one, screws or nails have a colored label with the size and screw type that you can match up.
Glue Bot
I own one of these, and just about every time I use glue, I use my glue bot. This is relatively cheap and if your woodworker doesn’t already have one, they are going to love it. The silicone brush and tray works great as well. Both of those are cheap and can make great stocking stuffers.
Wood
I’m serious give them wood. I sometimes make small projects, and in the area I live, hard woods are not available. But I found (link below) a box of hard wood cutoffs that is on amazon. They work great for small projects. You get random pieces and all are short lengths but you can make some small boxes or use all of it to make a cutting board.
Batteries
While you may not want to buy a tool for your woodworker, chances are you know what kind of cordless tools they use…I mean come on it is 2018 every woodworker should have at least 1 brand of cordless tool they use. A lot of times at Holidays places like Home Depot will put batteries on sale, or offer 2 for the price of 1. This is a great time to pick up a much need battery.
Gift Card
As I put this on my list, my first thought was DUH!!While you may not be able to “nail” that perfect gift for your woodworker, you can give them the “power” to buy what they want. You know the places they shop for tools and wood, so pick one or multiple of those locations. This will give them the power to buy what they want and not feel guilty.
